I was commisioned to create a book cover for a lively and funny autobiography of a famous American comedian whose first crime was being born mixed-race in South Africa. I grew up in South Africa under apartheid. My mother is Black. My father is white. One of the worst crimes you could commit back then involved interracial sex. Needless to say, my parents were guilty of it. Born in 1984 in Johannesburg,
Trevor Noah is now one of America’s greatest comedians. This stand-up-style autobiography recounts what daily life was like under the world’s most racist regime, as well as the exploits of a brilliantly sassy young boy.
